Two goals from Steven Davis, a great free kick by Sone Aluko and another goal by David Healy gave the Champions an emphatic 4-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox yesterday and closed the gap at the top of the table to one point.

GERS DROP POINTS
Strangely enough, it was one of Rangers better performances in recent weeks, but despite making a number of good chances, in the end it took a Mo Edu equaliser to stop us dropping all three points against Aberdeen at Ibrox. The Gers are now 4 points behind in the SPL title race and badly need to hit a run of form.
WALTER SMITH IN ABU DHABI – MARCH 15th
Bears,
Walter Smith and his wife are coming to Abu Dhabi in March.
There will be a black tie gentlemans dinner to raise funds for a local team in Abu Dhabi on March 15th; Rob McCaffrey will be the MC for the evening and there will be a few speakers along with Walter.
There is also a golf day (venue to be confirmed) on the 14th where Walter will play with each group on the day.
I have managed to book 12 places for the golf and 3 tables of 10 for the function the following evening.
The venue for the dinner is at the Millenium hotel in Abu Dhabi and the cost is AED500 per head.
I will be updating everyone as soon as I can once I get final details, however, if you want to attend then places are limited and I know some will need to try and get a day off for the golf etc hence why I am trying to give as much notice as possible.
I will be discussing with Walter the possibilities of him coming to Dubai, either at the end of the season or towards the end of the year and looking to organise a dinner at that time hosted by the Dubai Loyal (fingers crossed).
If you would like to book a spot at either the golf or dinner then please contact George or myself. The money for the event will be required pretty much straight away so if you fail to pay then unfortunately your name will be taken off the list.
As I have said earlier this is an event run by a boys club in Abu Dhabi and not a Dubai Loyal event, we have just been fortunate to get involved.
If there is a lot of interest in the evening function then I am sure we can get more tables if required
Cheers
Jim

GOLF EVENING FUNCTION UPDATE
Bears,
Important info regarding Goram / Amoruso function.
We are now fully booked for the evening function after the golf on the 16th of February. We now have 110 attending which is the absolute maximum we are allowed due to H&S restrictions.
However, there is a waiting list and if you would like to be put on this list then please contact either myself or George.
The final seating plan will be sent out to all attending the week before the function.
Sorry we can not accommodate everyone but the function has turned out to be very popular this year.
Regards
Jim
GERS THROUGH TO 5TH ROUND
Goals from David Healy, Nikica Jelavic, Salim Kerkar (yes, Salim Kerkar – anybody on Twitter yesterday would have seen the great tip from Andrew Dickson at Rangers for him to score the last goal at 20/1) and an own goal from Craig Wedderburn gave Rangers a 4-0 victory away to Arbroath yesterday.
The draw for the 5th round takes place at Hampden today at 2.30pm GMT.
The Champions next match in the SPL is on Saturday the 14th of January away to St Johnstone. The match kicks-off at 4.40pm local time in Dubai and as always will be shown live in Centre Circle.
GOLF EVENING FUNCTION – UPDATE
Bears,
First of all, thank you to all who have come back and booked a seat at the evening function on Feb 16th. We now have 90 confirmed but please note that the maximum allowed in the function suite is 100. If you haven’t already asked myself or George to book you a seat can you please do so ASAP to avoid disappointment.
There are quite a few playing golf on the day who haven’t yet booked a seat. Please note that you have to reserve a seat as this is not automatic just because you are playing golf.
Many Thanks
Jim
