JELAVIC BACK FOR GERS VICTORY

The Champions ended an unbelievable two-year winless streak against Caley Thistle in the SPL at Ibrox last night.

It was a far from impressive performance from The Gers, but a good goal by Steven Davis in the 45th minute was enough to secure the victory.

The highlight of the evening was the return of Nikica Jelavic to the 1st team after an extended break through injury. The Croatian came on as a second half substitute, replacing an out of touch James Beattie and very quickly had the crowd asking ‘Kenny Who?’.  After only a few minutes on the park he was unlucky not to score with a header that was cleared off the line and he went on to make a number of other chances. Without doubt there are a lot of goals to come from him this season.

There should be a big crowd in Centre Circle for the next match away to Hearts on Saturday – Kick-Off 4.45pm local time.
