DUNFERMLINE 0 CHAMPIONS 4

The Gers bounced back from the disappointing League Cup defeat in midweek to secure an emphatic 4 – 0 victory away to Dunfermline yesterday.  It was Ally McCoist’s 49th birthday and the team gave him the present he wanted.

Right from the start the Champions took the match to the home team and the only real doubt was who we were playing against as confusion raised its ugly head in the Centre Circle bar when someone, who shall remain nameless and had obviously gone over the top on the Carlsberg, thought they were watching St Mirren for most of the first half.

Carlos Bocanegra’s first SPL goal got the Gers off and running with a superb header from a corner kick in the 9th minute (Jim Henderson wins the AED300 for this weeks Golden Goal). Mo Edu followed up with a brlilliant strike from outside the box in the 16th minute and a couple of nice goals from Stevie Naismith in the 2nd half saw The Champions go 7 points clear at the top of the SPL (at least for a short time).
