The Gers are back!
It was a very strange day yesterday, watching the match with Gaelic commentary and in a banquet room with no beer (until extra time) as Centre Circle was shut for Ramadan. But, most importantly we are back playing football and recorded our first win of the season in the 1st Round of The Ramsdens Cup (that’s Ramsdens the Pawnbroker, not Harry Ramsdens the chippy as I found out yesterday).
The match wasn’t pretty, but when the Gers got off to a great start against 2nd Division Brechin with a goal from Andy Little in the 4th minute we were looking forward to seeing something good. It all became a bit of a struggle with the team obviously not match fit and with Brechin equalising just before halftime, it was deep into extra time before Lee McCulloch finished the game with a header from corner kick.
Next match for Rangers is at home to East Fife in the first round of The Scottish Communities League Cup on August 7th. The match kicks-off at 10.45pm local time in Dubai and will be shown live in Centre Circle.
